Why I Chose to Pursue an MBA as a Fresher (With a Twist in the Tale)
“Wait… you are doing an MBA already? Don’t you want some work experience first?”
If I had
a rupee for every time I heard that, I would probably be able to afford my
morning coffee at a 5-star!
But here
I am diving into the world of business, marketing, strategy, and much more as
a fresher. Well, almost. There is a small twist I have not shared yet...
and I will get to that in a bit.
Let me
walk you through the “why” behind this decision, and maybe you will see it is
not as rushed as it seems.
I Did not Want to Just Blend In
After
graduation, most people either jumped into job applications or chose to “figure
things out later.” I was not okay with that. I knew I wanted more: more
clarity, more structure, more purpose.
The MBA
path was not just about placements or packages for me. It was about direction.
I wanted to understand how businesses work, how brands are built, how products
evolve and most importantly, how I could fit into that space while being me.
I Found My “Why” (And It Was not
on a Job Portal)
My MBA
journey didn not start in a classroom or a corporate cubicle. It started in a
moment of reflection.
Somewhere
between managing college classes, exploring content creation, learning Canva,
and recovering from setbacks, I found joy in building things, in solving
problems, in telling stories. That is when I realized I was not just interested
in working, I was interested in creating impact.
Marketing,
strategy, and product management started calling to me. I wanted to understand
the business side of things: what makes people choose one brand over another?
How do products go from an idea to something that changes lives? How can
creativity and logic co-exist in a boardroom?
That
curiosity became my compass.
What’s Coming Up
In just a
few months, I will be starting my MBA journey from a reputed b-school (would
reveal it soon in upcoming blogs) and it honestly feels like the beginning of a
new chapter. I am entering not just as a student, but as someone who has
already experienced a fair share of real-life lessons, outside of a resume.
And here
is the fun part: I plan to document it all.
From how
I dealt with my gap year, to the exact moment I knew I wanted to pursue an MBA,
to the skills I am learning and the experiences that shape me: everything will
be part of this journey.
To Every Fresher Who is Unsure...
If you are
wondering whether you need to follow the “2 years of work-ex” rule before doing
an MBA, here is what I will say:
✔️ If you are clear about your
interests
✔️ Willing to learn before you earn
✔️ Ready to step out of your comfort zone
…then you
are already halfway there.
Don’t
wait for the world’s approval. Your story doesn’t have to look like anyone
else’s.
Thanks
for reading this far and trust me, the best (and realest) parts of the story
are yet to come.
Stay tuned.

Starting an MBA as a fresher can feel overwhelming, especially when academic expectations are high and practical exposure is limited. Assignments like business plans require market analysis, financial projections, and strategic thinking, which take time to master. In such situations, using business plan assignment help can be really useful. Expert guidance helps freshers understand real-world business concepts better, improve structuring skills, and gain confidence while balancing coursework and learning outcomes effectively.
